Meeting the Growing Demands of Mobile Customers in Brazil
Company: Itaú | Role: Senior Designer and Project Leader | Year: 2012
In 2011, Itaú, the largest bank in Brazil, had a growing demand. At the time, Itaú was having increased access via cell phone, and with the popularization of mobile internet and smartphones in Brazil, this number grew dramatically. The bank had no responsive website, and users struggled to access their accounts via mobile phones. To address this need, Itaú needed to develop its first mobile application.
The challenge was to create an intuitive and easy-to-use application that would allow users to perform their banking transactions on-the-go.
The project began with extensive user research to understand the needs,
pain points and behaviors of the bank's mobile customers. We then prototyped, focusing on providing a seamless and user-friendly experience for the customers. and tested the application, iterating based on user feedback to ensure that met their needs.
In addition, we worked closely with the bank's technology team to ensure that the application was scalable, reliable and secure.
We collaborated with the business team to align the application with the bank's overall strategy, including branding, marketing and customer engagement.
Finally, we launched the application in 2012, and it quickly gained adoption, becoming the main transaction platform for bank customers. The application provided a wide range of features, including account management, bill payment, and money transfers, which helped Itaú stay ahead of the curve in the rapidly evolving mobile banking landscape.
